William S. Cumby, Sr., Chairman
During his more than 50-year career in the construction industry, William
Cumby, Sr. has earned an unequaled reputation for competence, integrity
and leadership. After serving in World War II and attending Temple University,
Bill Sr. began his career as an Estimator and served in the roles of
Vice President and Director of Operations before joining his son, William
S. Cumby, Jr., in the establishment of W.S. Cumby & Son, Inc. in 1981.
Bill Sr. was President of W.S. Cumby from 1981-1998 and then took
on the position of Chairman in which he currently serves. Mr. Cumby
has been involved with many well-known projects including the first and second expansion
of Independence Mall and the restoration of the Second Bank of the United
States in Philadelphia and the construction of the technical facility
and corporate headquarters of NFL Films in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
William S. Cumby, Jr., LEED AP - President
William Cumby, Jr. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College,
a Masters of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania and
a Masters of Business Administration degree from Temple University.
Bill Jr. founded W.S. Cumby with his father, William S.
Cumby, Sr., in 1981, served as Vice President from 1981-1998 and as
President since 1998. Bill Jr. has been an active member of his community
having served as Mayor of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, President of the
Swarthmore Business District Authority, member of the Swarthmore Planning
Commission and trustee of the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church. Currently,
he serves as Vice President of the Carpenters' Company of Philadelphia.
Thomas Klueber, P.E., LEED AP - Vice President
Thomas Klueber has 30 years of experience in the construction
industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University
and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Villanova University.
Tom has held various positions in the industry including Project Manager,
Senior Project Manager and Division Management Vice President prior
to joining W. S. Cumby as Director of Operations. He was named
Vice President in 2004. Tom is active in the Doylestown community and
is past president of the Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter of Associated
Builders and Contractors (ABC).
Craig Irvine, LEED AP - Vice President of Operations
Craig Irvine has 22 years of experience in the construction industry. Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration Management from Bloomsburg University. Craig is a member of the Delaware Valley Green Building council and is a Green Advantage Certified Professional. Mr. Irvine is responsible for overseeing both home office and field operations on all projects in the construction phase including, execution of contracts, project management administration and oversight of jobsite safety.
Michael Boess, Chief Estimator
Michael Boess is the director of the company's estimating department
and has 25 years of experience in the construction industry starting
out in his family's construction business. Mike holds a Bachelor of
Science
degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College
and continued his education at Penn State University in Construction
Engineering. He has served in various management roles including Estimator,
Senior Estimator, Estimating Manager and Project Manager. As Chief Estimator,
he leads the preconstruction estimating, value engineering and bidding
and buyout efforts.
Michael O'Brien, LEED AP - Vice President of Business Development
Michael O'Brien's career in the construction industry spans 25
years, including experience in the construction of industrial facilities
as well as owner/president of an independent contracting firm. Since
joining W.S. Cumby, he served as Superintendent, Senior Project
Manager and Director of Business Development before being named Vice
President in February of 2005. Mike holds a Certificate in Construction
Management from Drexel University where he continued his education
in Operations Management. He is a LEED AP, member of the Board of Directors of both the Delaware Valley
Green Building Council and Habitat for Humanity, Certified Green Advantage
Instructor and has facilitated over 80 AIA Accredited Continuing Education
Seminars on the LEED process.
