W.S. Cumby's relocation to a larger home office provided an opportunity to demonstrate commitment to sustainability. The planning and construction of the first LEED certified building in the Greater Philadelphia area involved participation from every level of the organization.

The adaptive re-use of an existing 14,000 SF structure incorporated many sustainable strategies including groundwater recharge beds beneath porous asphalt paving, indigenous landscaping, natural daylighting, high efficiency water saving fixtures, recycled materials, an energy recovery system and construction indoor air quality management. W.S. Cumby's construction waste management effort was successful in diverting over 90% of debris away from landfills and into a recycle stream.
