The Pitman United Methodist Church expressed a couple of major factors that would impact their schedule of operations: enabling users access to the new facility as soon as possible to avoid paying extra rent in a temporary space and accessing the administrative offices. To deal with the immediate need to use necessary spaces, W.S. Cumby worked with the Owner and Architect in a team scheduling approach to develop a phased opening, accommodating the move-in and opening of the offices. The team also worked expeditiously with the Borough of Pitman and Gloucester County to deal with life safety issues needed for occupancy, enabling the opening of the office space. W.S. Cumby completed construction of the new Pitman United Methodist Church; the 120-year-old original was consumed by fire in December of 2003. The new 40,000 SF church includes a new sanctuary, chapel, library and media center, classrooms, offices and multi-purpose social hall. Architect: Voith and Mactavish Architects |
