W.S. Cumby provided Construction Management Services for the construction of the new Mollie Dodd Anderson Library. The 25,000 SF facility includes a library space, conference room, archives room, classrooms and office space.
This project is LEED Gold Certified. Sustainable design and construction strategies include:
Ground source heat pumps (geothermal HVAC), Vegetative roof, Use of native plants requiring no irrigation after plants are established, Rain gardens will manage the site’s storm water, Water use reduction of at least 40% through the use of waterless urinals and low-flow fixtures, Purchasing at least 35% green power, Use of natural day light to supplement artificial lighting,
Lutron total building system to control lighting, window shades and user comfort, 95% construction waste diverted from the landfills , and 40% reduction of carbon dioxide emissions through the use of fly ash and slag in the concrete
