Swarthmore Town Center West Awarded Suburban Project of the Year by ACE Mentor Program of Eastern PA

The ACE Mentor Program of Eastern Pennsylvania held its 16th annual ACE Scholarship Breakfast on Wednesday, May 17. Swarthmore Town Center West was honored as the 2017 Suburban Project of the Year.

The multiple phases of the Town Center West project included the relocation of utilities and the College softball field, the construction of a new traffic roundabout on PA Route 320 in the heart of the Borough, the relocation of the College’s south entrance and student parking lot, and the construction of the new 43,000 SF Inn at Swarthmore.

“We are thrilled that Swarthmore Town Center West is being recognized for this award,” said W.S. Cumby President, Bill Cumby Jr. “We at W.S. Cumby are proud to have been a part of such a rewarding experience.”

Founded in 2000, the ACE Mentor Program of Eastern Pennsylvania gives students from local high schools an exciting opportunity to learn more about potential careers in architecture, engineering and construction. Under the mentorship of experienced professionals from leading building industry firms, students work in teams to pursue a range of informative and stimulating after-school activities, including field trips to “in-progress” construction sites, discussions with project managers, tours of professional offices and more. In addition, each team works on a project that addresses “real-life” situations and issues.
